Members Meetings

Meetings are held quarterly for NextGeneration members and cover pertinent sector issues at the time. Most recently we held a meeting about the current state of the housing market and how homebuilders can deliver on government targets. We also covered technical issues related to the Code for Sustainable Homes and discussed the Cyril Sweett and CLG cost analysis report.
Other events held to date include:
  • Financing climate change mitigation
  • Sustainable timber procurement
  • Marketing sustainable homes
Feedback from recent member events has been excellent:
  • 100% of attendees at the member meeting on FSC timber agreed the issue to be very or increasingly relevant to company activities.
  • Many companies have used to the results of our ‘mystery shopper’ exercise carried out in 2008 to improve the information provided to customers in sales and marketing suites.
NextGeneration enables members to collaborate with peers in voicing shared problems and solutions – to government, planning authorities, investors and professional institutions. NextGeneration is also feeding into a number of industry initiatives on behalf of members including:
  • Zero Carbon Hub
  • 2010 Code for Sustainable Homes review
  • New CLG Code for Sustainable Homes cost analysis
