NextGeneration at Local Government Association Annual Conference 2011

NextGeneration was priveleged to hold a fringe event at the Local Government Association's Annual Conference 2011 "Localism Works" on Tuesday 28th June 2011 at 6:30. The LGA Annual Conference is the premier conference for local authorities and their partners and is beging held at the International Conference Centre (ICC) Birmingham, UK.
The event, titled "Bringing together government, the private sector and local communities to deliver more sustainable places" explored how local authorities can work with home builders to deliver local solutions to sustainability.
Taylor Wimpey, a long term NextGeneration member, also shared their experience in this area through their approach to community planning.

NextGeneration’s 2009 benchmark assessed the top 25 UK homebuilders based on their sustainability strategy, governance and risk management and their impact on the environment and on society.
The 2010 benchmark has the theme Sustainable Communities and will seek to assess companies based upon their strategy, commitment to and delivery of sustainable communities, considering environmental, social and economic issues.
Any company with residential development activities can join NextGeneration as a member. Membership provides access to a range of services including our industry-leading benchmarks.
